Monthly Halqa-e-Durood, Mehfil-e-Dhikr and Annual Prayers for the Martyrs of Model Town (Lahore 17th June 2014)

Saturday 17th June 2017 | 22nd Ramaḍān 1438AH | at Ashton Central Mosque.

Organised jointly by Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International and Minhaj Women League (Ashton-Under-Lyne).

The monthly gathering was held at Ashton Central Mosque, in which the congregation were encouraged to honorably participate in sending invocations and salutations upon the Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Head Imam of Ashton Central Mosque, Imam Ghulam Moyhuddin al-Azhari initiated the gathering by reciting a few verses from the Holy Qur’an.  Allama Qari Zāhid Sharif Rizvi (Imam and Teacher at Ashton Central Mosque) then led the collective recital of Qasīdat al-Burda in honor of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Haji Muhammad Ashfaq Warsi (President MQI-Ashton) then led the collective recitation of Durood-e-Minhaj.  After which, Allama Qari Zāhid Sharif Rizvi led the collective recitation of the Wazaif (provided by Huzoor Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for all Halqa-e-Durood gatherings).  Every member of the congregation was given printed copies of the Wazaif and followed the recitation readily.

Then Br. Shahbaz Hassan Qadri recited a variety of Na’at in praise of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.  Then Haji Muhammad Ashfaq Warsi led a spiritually engaging Mehfil-e-Dhikr, leading onto the collective Salaat-ul-Salam upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

The final supplication read by Allama Qari Zāhid Sharif Rizvi conveyed all the recitations of Durood-e-Paak brought to the gathering and additional Wazaif recited for the Holy Prophet ﷺ.  In particular, an emotional supplication was read for the Esal-e-Sawab of the Martyrs of the Model Town Massacre of 17th June 2014 and also Islamabad 30th/31st August 2014.

It is the responsibility of a Muslim to raise his or her voice and speak out against the oppression and excesses of individuals or governments.  Allah has enjoined the believers to expose the cruelty of oppressors:

Allah does not like anyone’s foul words being voiced loud (publicly and openly) except by one who has been a victim of oppression (he is allowed to expose the cruelty of the oppressor), and Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

[Holy Qur’an 4:148]

Tabbaruk was distributed after the gathering's conclusion and was greatly appreciated by all the attendees of the Ashton Central Mosque and the surrounding community. There were approximately 70 male and 60 female attendees at the gathering.

In total 1,301,000 Durood Shareef and 100 Qur’an-e-Paak recitals and uncounted recitals of Surah Mulk Recitations were gathered on this occasion from attendees and well-wishers, as well as a sizeable contribution from overseas colleagues. All recitals have been forwarded to the Minhaj-ul-Qur'an International Central Collection of Durood Shareef.
