MYL-S Bradford wins “The Big Challenge 2012”

Muslim Youth League Sisters of Bradford won “The Big Challenge2012”organised by the Bradford council on Saturday 6th October 2012; in an attempt to increase diversity and multi cultural interaction between various communities in Bradford. This was indeed a great effort to bring together a diversity of people, from different walks of life and cultures and put them in teams, the team members were to eventually build confidence and trust in each other, learn new skills and also meet new people from different walks of life and make friends!

MYL-S Bradford attend Hajj exhibition lecture at University of Bradford

MYL-S Bradford felt extremely privileged to have been invited to an evening lecture with Curator Qaisra Khan on Wednesday 5th September 2012 at the University of Bradford. The University of Bradford hosted an evening with Qaisra Khan who came especially from London to deliver an insightful talk on her display at The British Museum. The exhibit that took place less than six months ago was an attempt at providing the London community with a taste of the Islamic culture.

MYL-S Bradford hosted their “Eid Fesitival 2012” at Thornbury Centre on Leeds Old Road on 1st September 2012. It was indeed a fun-packed, successful and busy day for the MYL Sisters.  The eagerly awaited“Eid Festival 2012” was promoted as a womens and childrens event only and entailed many acitivities for everyone who attended, the day was aimed to provide fun and interactive activities for the local community as well as raising funds for the various projects MYL-S UK are carrying out accross UK.

The first study circle of MYL-S Bradford took place on 23rd July 2012 in Manningham library. Alhamdulillah we had a full house and the study circle attracted many non-MQI members.

MYL-S Bradford attends Annual Durood Sharif Programme

On 8th July Sunday 2012 the Minhaj Women’s League in Bradford organised a grand programme that commemorated the 5th annual anniversary celebrating the success of the Halaqa e Durood in Bradford. The event was beautifully organised by President of Minhaj Women League, Mrs Jannat Elahi who allocated Mrs Riffat and Mrs Rubina Raja, Minhaj Women League members, to co-host the event. Mrs Riffat introduced the theme of the programme and thanked the audience for attending the blessed event. She also spoke briefly about the blessings of Durood Sharif. She stated that regular recital of Durood Sharif increases our love for the Holy Prophet (SAW) and establishes recognition between the person reciting the Durood Sharif and Holy Prophet (SAW)
