On 10 March 2013, Minhaj-ul-Quran International organised its first fundraiser for the new mega project at the Rio Grande venue in Bradford, UK. The new mega project is a multi-million pound project of Minhaj-ul-Quran making it the biggest and most expensive venture. The new development will be of the biggest centres of Minhaj-ul-Quran outside of Pakistan. The project is being headed by Allama Afzal Saeedi, President of MQI UK and is under the guidance of Shaykh-ul-Islam himself.
The fundraiser was organised to purchase the property upon which the development will take place with a staggering cost of £500k consisting of a 2.2 acre property in a prominent area in West Yorkshire region. As a purpose built development, it will be a complex consisting of a large Jamia Masjid which will be able to accommodate 15 thousand people, an Islamic school, seminar rooms, community hall, sports facilities, car park, a garden, and other community facilities.
At the fundraiser, students of Minhaj-ul-Quran Bradford demonstrated their unique religious training they have gained. Students recited hadith of the Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) which they had memorized with the correct Arabic pronunciation and English translation. Professional people who studied at Minhaj-ul-Quran Bradford expressed their experiences in learning the Islamic sciences and how they often refer back to the local organisation for guidance on every day issues. Under the new mega project we will upgrade our educational facilities and thousands of people will benefit immensely from it.
A hadith states:
“If a human dies, then his good deeds stop except for three: a Sadaqa Jariah (continuous charity), a beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” – Sahih Muslim
A PowerPoint presentation was delivered by the architects who presented to the audience a study of the property and explained its features. The architects described how the property can be utilized to fulfil the multiple purposes of the development.
Due to the generosity of the audience hundreds of thousands of pounds were raised in that single evening. Brothers and sisters who would like to contribute towards this great cause can do so by paying into the bank account using the details below:
