Scottish Muslim organisations are to join together in Glasgow to condemn last Friday's attacks in Tunisia, Kuwait and France.

The event's organisers said they are willing to "do whatever is necessary" to stamp out extremism in the community if it arises.

On Tuesday 23 June, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered his keynote speech during the official launch of the Islamic Curriculum on Peace and Counter-Terrorism. In attendance were official guests, including Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Brigadier Paul Harkness, Khalid Mahmood MP, along with Eminent Islamic scholars from around the UK.

Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has asked the Western world to put an end to killing of innocent people in the name of international coalition against terrorism. He said that if any organization or group was indulging in terrorism and militancy in the name of Islam in any part of the world. It was their individual act, which had nothing to do with Islam. He said that terrorism in the name of the great faith represented negation of Islamic teachings and shared values of humanity.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is deeply saddened today to hear about the passing away of Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani Naqshbandi who is spiritual guide for many Muslims around the world. He has visited Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri at Minhaj-ul-Quran International Lahore, Pakistan and was a close friend of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. On the invitation of Shaykh Nazim, Shaykh-ul-Islam also visited Cyprus to visit Shaykh Nazim in 2011 and met on a number of occasions.

The Global Peace & Unity (GPU) Event by Islam Channel is taking place between 23-24 November at ExCel London. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has confirmed that he will speak at the GPU event 2013.

Previously, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri spoke at GPU 2010 on the topic of Jihad and clarified the concept of counter-terrorism. He clarified that Islam stands for PEACE, Harmony, Mercy, Compassion and Human dignity.
