The 36th annual Mawlid-un-Nabi (peace and blessings be upon him) Conference was held in the famous central Mosque Ghamkol Sharif, Birmingham, UK under the banner of Central Jamaat Ahle Sunnat UK & Overseas. The holding of this Conference was significant in the context of recent terrorist incidents in Europe and mulling ways and means to confront the situation. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered his special address on the occasion. Thousands of people belonging to various walks of life from across the UK including those associated with MQI, central Jamaat Ahle Sunnat UK and Overseas and Confederation of the Sunni Mosques attended the Conference. Halls of the Mosque were jam-packed with the participants. Special seating arrangements were made for the women and children on the upper hall of the Mosque.

Today MQI UK and MQI worldwide grieves the loss of Haji Sufi Muhammad Aslam from London UK, who passed away earlier today. On hearing of this sad news the founder of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri (President Supreme Council) expressed their grave sorrow and extended their condolences to Sufi Muhammad Aslam's family and prayed that Allah (SWT) grant Sufi Muhammad Aslam’s soul an esteemed rank in Paradise and grants his family patience to bare this loss

On Tuesday 23 June, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered his keynote speech during the official launch of the Islamic Curriculum on Peace and Counter-Terrorism. In attendance were official guests, including Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Brigadier Paul Harkness, Khalid Mahmood MP, along with Eminent Islamic scholars from around the UK.

Scottish Muslim organisations are to join together in Glasgow to condemn last Friday's attacks in Tunisia, Kuwait and France.

The event's organisers said they are willing to "do whatever is necessary" to stamp out extremism in the community if it arises.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is deeply saddened today to hear about the passing away of Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani Naqshbandi who is spiritual guide for many Muslims around the world. He has visited Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri at Minhaj-ul-Quran International Lahore, Pakistan and was a close friend of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. On the invitation of Shaykh Nazim, Shaykh-ul-Islam also visited Cyprus to visit Shaykh Nazim in 2011 and met on a number of occasions.
