19 February 2011: Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK organised a spiritual night to celebrate Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri's 60th birthday. The guest of honour for the program was Shaykh-ul-Islam himself.
The event was organised at the Bradford City Football Club Conference Room. The night consisted of a dinner followed by a qawwali session.
Shaykh-ul-Islam blessed the program by his attendance just as all the guests had arrived and had taken their seats. Dinner was served.
Allama Afzal Saeedi, President NEC MQI UK conducted proceedings. The program officially began by a recitation of the Holy Quran and a nasheed praising the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW by Shazad brothers.
Many of the participants came from Europe, Canada and India especially for Shaykh-ul-Islam's present short UK tour; they were special guests at this program. Shaykh-ul-Islam invited representatives from each country to be seated on the stage beside him.
Shaykh-ul-Islam then had an informal conversation with the participants, interacting and joking with them.
There was then an award ceremony for outstanding achievements by members of MQI UK who were presented with shields. Shaykh-ul-Islam congratulated all of them. Then scholars who had attended a two week intensive course at the world famous Al-Azhar University, especially organised for graduates of The Minhaj University, were presented with the unique al-Azhar caps by Shaykh-ul-Islam.
Then Shaykh-ul-Islam asked the Qawwali group consisting of MQI (France) members to perform their qawawlies (Nasheeds with music). They performed numerous qawwalis praising Allah SWT, the Holy Prophet SAW and awliya of Allah SWT.
