We would like to express our utmost condolences and grievances at the death of Pope John Paul the II on behalf of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI). The death of his Holiness is a great loss to us all. Our prayers are with the Catholic community at this time.
He was a man that advocated peace and fought for justice and upheld values of human rights. He was a man that was able to forgive even those who tried to assassinate him. He turned to them in love at a time had turned to him in hate.
Pope John Paul the II was a very devoted servant of God, who worked for the uplift of faith. Moreover, his kind words and good will towards the Muslims has really been appreciated and we hope Pope John Paul's legacy will be carried on even after his death. He expressed the readiness of the Catholic Church to work together with the Muslim communities and all those people of good will to aid the victims of war and to build structures for lasting peace world over.
