Saturday, 5 February 2011 - Today the British Prime Minister will speak about multiculturalism in Britain. However majority of British Muslims will not agree with his view that multiculturalism has failed in the UK. In fact the beauty of multiculturalism has made Britain one of the leading nations in the world and its success in the world is due to its multi-cultural approach over the past decades.

Shahid Mursaleen, spokesman of Minhaj-ul-Quran UK said “I believe people love Britain because of its multi-cultural approach over the past decades. Today Britain is regarded as the best and aspiring country for many nations mainly due to its open, honest and multi-cultural values.”

He added "We should concentrate on establishing a multicultural society through integration and not through assimilation. Democracy, human rights, equality integration and women rights are core teachings of Islam which are also core British values of which Muslims are proud of.

"In order to tackle extremists and home grown radicals, I believe we need a comprehensive theological refutation which can be derived from the historic Fatwa on Terrorism by Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri."

"We at Minhaj-ul-Quran present true teachings of Islam and promote democracy, integration, equality, human rights and women rights in order to fight ignorance among some Muslims."
