Minhaj-ul-Quran International London presents the annual “Community Iftar” taking place on Friday 10th July at 7pm - bringing the people of Newham together during the holy month of Ramadan. Local MPs and councillors, leaders of different faith groups, law enforcement officers and residents will be joining us to share the festivities. This will include food from different parts of the world and various performances.
This event aims to celebrate the diversity of Newham by bringing together people of religion and none from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds in order to promote cohesion in society.
The function will conclude with a minute silence in memory of the victims of terrorist attacks around the world and a collective prayer for peace led by all the faith leaders present.
The founder of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Dr.Tahir-ul-Qadri, has been at the forefront of promoting peace and tolerance and has recently launched an anti-terror curriculum for this purpose.
We hope you will join us to cover this important event to raise awareness of such work taking place in the Borough of Newham.
