31st December 2017 Minhaj ul Quran London ended the year by hosting those in difficult circumstances and homeless at its centre on Romford Road Forest Gate. Over 30 volunteers from not only the mosque but from different parts of the community joined in distributing pilau rice, drinks and a whole host of food, snacks donated by the mosque, local businesses, volunteers, and well wishers. One unknown person donated 10 crates of bottled fruit juice drink. Later in the Evening volunteers went to Stratford Centre and met a number of warm hearted individuals, and organisations and together handed out boxes of food and drinks to those vulnerable on New Year’s Eve.
Minhaj ul Quran International (London) achieved a significant first this Christmas by being the only Muslim organisation to attend Church on a Christmas day and help their Christian friends distribute food to the homeless. Over 35 volunteers from Minhaj ul Quran International (London) attended Emmanuel Church in Forest Gate to help their Christian friends hand out food and presents to the Homeless. Muslims joined in the carol singing and observed the Christmas service beautifully conducted by Reverend Chigor Chike Vicar of Emmanuel Church with St Peter. This was a true message of love and social cohesion where the Reverend and all his congregation welcomed their Muslim friends.
Ummaha tul Momineen and Khatam ul Quran conference held under the banner of Minhaj Women League London, The programme started with a Dars e Quran by Sister Zarida Shafiq. A beautiful naat was recited by sister naseem and sister Jannat ul Firdous. Sister Nusrat Mehmood ( President MWL South Zone ) delivered a talk on Importance of Quran. Sister Sumaiyyah Murtaza ( Dawah Secretary South Zone ) delivered a heart touching speech on Itkaaf.
Sayyidah Kainat Conference and Giyarveen sharif programme held under the banner of Minhaj Women League London, The programme started with a durs e quran by Sister Zarida Shafiq. A beautiful manqabat and naat was recited by sister Khalida Rasheed and sister Samina Sadiqa (President MWL London). Sister Nusrat mahmood (President MWL south zone) delivered a talk on blessing of Ramadan. Sister Summiya Murtaza (Dawah secretary south zone) delivered a heart touching speech on siyyadah kainat (R.A).
Minhaj-ul-Quran London formally launched its projects to support the Refugees and Homeless in the Borough at the finale of the Far from the Western Front exhibition.
