Under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League London, a Mawlid Mehfil was arranged in which many women, sisters and children participated on 18th January 2014.

The program commenced with the recitation from the verses of the Holy Quran by Sister Tayba. Then, a number of sisters presented nasheeds in the court of Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H).

Sister Amna Ajmal delivered a brief but a comprehensive speech about the reality of Mawlid. She said that the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) has celebrated the birth of Prophet Moosa, so why shouldn’t we celebrate the birth of our Prophet (P.B.U.H)?

This was followed with a speech about the reasons why we organise Mawlid gathering by Sister Madiha Zeeshan, Deputy Dawah Secretary. She explained that there are two ways of doing Zikr-e-Rasool (S.A.W) mehfil:

Mawlid-un-Nabi (S.A.W)

Seerat-un-Nabi (S.A.W)

In a mehfil of Seerat-Ul-Nabi (S.A.W.), the main topic will be about the life of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). This will guide us how to follow the Sunnah of our Prophet (P.B.U.H).

In a mehfil of Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.), we will talk about the birth of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.)

Mrs Rukhsana Sarfraz, General Secretary of MWL London, presented the Minhaj Dawah Project. She also offered CD’s of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri’s speeches as a Mawlid gift.

Mrs Nusrat Mehmood, President of MWL London, performed the duty of Stage Secretary.

There was also a stall consisting of literature, books and CD’s of Shaykh-ul-Islam, in which women showed an immense interest.

The program ended with supplication and women were entertained with the meal and the Mawlid cake.
