On Monday 20 January 2014 we celebrated the blessed Mawlid Shareef of our Beloved (PBUH) under the umbrella of Minhaj ul Quran (Leyton wing, London). The event was organised by Mrs Abida Asif at the Bangla Centre on Dawlish Road Leyton, from 11am to 3pm. We had gathering of 180 sisters who attended.

Mrs Abida Asif hosted the programme, the event started with children reciting Quran and its translation, Naat and Hamd, followed by speeches from senior ladies of MQI such as Baji Zarida and Baji Nusrat. A book stall, selling and distributing books and CDs of Shaykh-ul-Islam was set up in the foyer. Food was distributed. There were announcements made to inform the attendees of fiqh and tajweed classes that are being run at Mrs Abida Asif 's house. These classes had been running since the 18th of Oct 2013. Sisters showed a keen interest to join weekly classes. More announcements were made about the running of Baytul Hikmah courses and Alim courses, flyers for these courses were distributed. The event ended with the ziyarah of the blessed MUAY MUBARAK. The event ended promptly at 3pm.

May Allah Bless and send Salutations on our Beloved and accept this little effort that was to show our love for the best of mankind. A special thanks to all the volunteers who helped us to decorate the hall and helped us clear up in the end, also to the ladies who helped organize the food.
