The Mehfil consisted of Sister Nasreen Akhtar (Dawah Secretary) beginning by a Tilawat. This was then followed by Durood Sharif which was recited for around 30-40 minutes by all the attendees. The amount of Durood Sharif read each week is recorded and passed on at national level by the Dawa secretary.
Sister Abida Parveen (Welfare secretary) read a short Hadith on the importance of Namaz and Masajids whilst the Dawah secretary recited a passage from Surah Al-Baqra. The translated paragraph on the Surah focused on the importance of Quran. The President MWL Tinsley (Sister Khalda Khan) went on to explain the passage in more detail.
The group also listened to a short talk by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammed Tahir-ul-Qadri from his CD Haqooq-e-Zojain.
A short question and answer session was initiated by Sister Khalda khan to the more elderly and how they conducted themselves as wives and mothers based on the short talk. There were some exceptional answers and I am sure everyone took away something important from the discussion that took place.
We concluded the Mehfil with Aeysha Mirza (General Secretary) leading the Zikr followed by a beautiful Salaam and Dua.
Refreshments were also served to all the guests.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the mehfil, overall it was a success.
