On 21st February 2014, the Muslim Youth League – Sisters in Nelson held an event to celebrate the life and work of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, which added to the weeklong events of Quaid day celebrations.

On Wednesday 19th February 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran held birthday celebrations, in honour of the founder of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The mosque had made arrangements for children from both education centres, the Carr Road site and the Brunswick St site, to attend the proceedings and to take part in the ceremonies. Along with them, local members of Minhaj-ul-Quran and parents of the students were also invited to attend.

On Wednesday 19th February 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran held birthday celebrations in honour of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri’s 63rd birthday. The mehfil was conducted by the Imam of Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Allama Hafiz Abdul Saeed who supervised over the proceedings. There was a joint effort from students from both centres of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Nelson participating. There were also a number of local members present who also contributed towards the proceedings.

On 2nd February 2014, MYL-S in Nelson organised a Nasheed Gathering in honour of our Beloved Prophet (SAW).  The purpose of the spiritual gathering was to bring the youth back towards Deen and to build a relationship with the Holy Prophet (SAW) through the recitation and listening of Nasheeds.

On the 12th of January 2014, the Women's League of Minhaj-ul-Quran Nelson hosted annual Mawlid Mehfil at the Minhaj-ul-Quran Centre in Nelson. This mehfil was hosted by Sister Nasreen Akhtar and Sister Sana Ashraf.
