Jamia masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Nelson, held a Namaz training course for young children under the age of 16. The course ran over the weekend of Saturday 26th September 2014 and Sunday 27th September 2014 and was conducted by Sister Tahira Basharat and Sister Naushaza Fiaz. The event was organised to teach children the correct way to read Namaz and also to inform them of the legalities of prayer. There were approximately 60 students in attendance at the course.

On Sunday 21st September 2014, a local community group called Anjuman Islah-ul-Muslimeen organised a regional Qiraat competition.  The competition was broadcast live on AWAAZ 103.1FM, a local community radio station, with young participants from all the surrounding mosques and education centres of Nelson and Burnley.

On Wednesday 27th August 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Nelson, held and a fun activity day for young children who attend the education centre. The aim of the event was to teach children about key aspects of Islam in a fun and creative way. Many of the children enjoyed carrying out various tasks, and also learnt about the work of Minhaj-ul-Quran.

On Sunday 3rd August 2014, Teachers and students of Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran Nelson held a Meena Bazaar and fun day for young children and ladies. The event was held at Minhaj-ul-Quran Educational Centre, Carr Road from 2:00pm- 6:00pm and was organised by teachers of Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Tahira Basharat, and Naushaza Fiaz. It was a great success, with hundreds of people from the surrounding areas in attendance.

On Friday 12th September 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran Nelson held a monthly Giyarvee Sharif Mehfil for young students who attend the education centre. The mehfil was hosted by Nida Ajaz, Lybah Ahmed and Maryam Hussain. The programme began in the usual way with recitation of the Holy Quran by Fatimah Rehman. This was followed by an Urdu poem by Sana Saeed Butt, about the mecry of Allah (SWT). There was an English Nasheed by Ayman Ahmed and Iram Khan called “Allah knows”.

On Thursday 14th August 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran Nelson held an Eid-ul-Fitr party for young children who attend the education centre. The event was a great success and was enjoyable, as it was a joint celebration for Pakistan’s Independence Day. The students came dressed in their Eid clothes and were in good spirits to celebrate.

On the 7th to the th11 of july 2014, the Women's League of Minhaj-ul-Quran Nelson organised Halaqat e Ramadan mehfils which lasted an hour in the afternoon at the Minhaj-ul-Quran Centre in Nelson. The programme was initiated with tilawat from the Holy Quran by Sister Ghulam Fatima and was then followed by Qaseeda burda sharif.  Then Sister Saima who is the dawah secretary for women’s league would give a little talk.
