Jamia Masjid Minhaj ul Quran (Nelson) holds Results Day/Parents Evening

On Thursday 27th November 2014 Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran held a parents evening for the young children who attend the education centre. The evening was organised to inform parents of their children’s progress over the last year. It was also to reward the children for their success in the recent examinations they had taken.

On the 16th of November 2014, the Women's League of Minhaj-ul-Quran Nelson organized a Muharram mehfil at the Minhaj-ul-Quran Centre in Nelson. This mehfil was hosted by Sister Nasreen Akhtar and Sister Ghulam fatima. Approximately two hundred participants in the form of women, girls and children attended the mehfil.

On Saturday 1st November 2014, Minhaj-ul-Quran International Nelson held their annual Shuhada-e-Karbala Conference 2014 at the Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Brunswick Street, Nelson. This conference was hosted by Allama

Rukhsar Ahmad Qadri and commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by brother Qari Waqas Hussain.

Jamia masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Nelson, held a Namaz training course for young children under the age of 16. The course ran over the weekend of Saturday 26th September 2014 and Sunday 27th September 2014 and was conducted by Sister Tahira Basharat and Sister Naushaza Fiaz. The event was organised to teach children the correct way to read Namaz and also to inform them of the legalities of prayer. There were approximately 60 students in attendance at the course.

On Friday 3rd October 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Nelson, held an annual Hajj Mehfil for young students who attend the education centre.  The mehfil was a great success, with students and teachers both enjoying the event. The proceedings began with recitation of the Holy Quran by Halimah Hussain, who beautifully recited Surah Ikhlas. This was followed by praises on the Holy Prophet (saw) in the form of a naat sharif, which was recited by the playgroup girls, Anam Ahmed, Salihah Anjum and Irtikah Mehmood.

On Sunday 21st September 2014, a local community group called Anjuman Islah-ul-Muslimeen organised a regional Qiraat competition.  The competition was broadcast live on AWAAZ 103.1FM, a local community radio station, with young participants from all the surrounding mosques and education centres of Nelson and Burnley.
