On the 6th of May 2017, Minhaj Women League Nelson arranged a Mental Health Workshop to be held at Minhaj-ul -Quran, Carr Road Nelson. The workshop was presented by Sister Sehrish Ismaeel, mental health practitioner (MWL North Welfare Secretary) to raise awareness on mental health issues, particularly within the Asian community.
By the Grace of Allah Almighty, Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League Nelson held their weekly Halqat-e-Darood Mehfils on Monday 1st May from 11.00am to 12.30pm at Minhaj -ul-Quran Centre, Carr Road Nelson.
MWL Nelson held its weekly Halaqat-e-Darood Mehfil on Monday 13th March 2017, with approximately twenty-five ladies in attendance. The Halaqat-e-Darood Mehfils are organised by Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League Nelson and take place all year around every Monday morning from 11.00a.m to 12.30p.m at the Minhaj-ul-Quran Centre, Carr Road Nelson.
On Sunday 19th February 2017 Minhaj-ul-Quran International held the annual Quaid Day celebrations to mark the 66th birthday of his eminence and founder of Minhaj-ul-Quran Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The event was hosted at Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran Nelson and was jointly organised and attended by members, supporters and well-wishers aligned to the Nelson, Burnley, Accrington and Blackburn branches.
On Sunday 23rd April 2017, the annual Miraj-un-Nabi conference was held at Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran Nelson. The event commenced after Asar prayer under the supervision of Allama Shams-ur-Rehman Asi and featured a special documentary summarising the main events that occurred on that blessed night journey of Isra wal Miraj. The main speech was delivered by honourable guest and Director of MQI Bradford Allama Muhammad Afzal Saeedi.
A group of 13 young women conducted a sponsored walk from Jamia Masjid Minhaj ul Quran Brunswick Street Nelson to the Singing Ringing Tree in the landscape of the Pennine Hills overlooking Burnley in aid of Syria and Palestine on Sunday 26th February 2017.
The sponsored walk was organised by Minhaj Sisters UK (Nelson) in conjunction with Minhaj Welfare Foundation under the Raising Smiles 2017 project. MWF is one of the largest non government international charity organisations in the world with a network of branches and projects in over 100 countries worldwide.
Minhaj Welfare Foundation has previously organised various challenges from Skydiving to Trekking Mount Snowdon, Kilimanjaro and the Great Wall of China.
Minhaj Women League Nelson arranged a workshop to raise awareness on cancer to mark World Cancer Day. The workshop commenced with the beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran by sister Nasreen Ashraf (MWL Nelson welfare secretary).
