The management, members and volunteers of East Lancashire Community Action Project (ELCAP) and Minhaj-ul-Quran International Nelson (MQI Nelson) visited a number of places in Pendle to wish people a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Seasonal Greetings.

Baroness Sayeeda Hussain Warsi a lawyer, politician and co-chairperson of the Conservative Party visited Pendle on Thursday 17th November 2011. The Baroness visited a number of organisations and spoke with various people to discuss the work that was being done in the community and the issues people were facing due to the economic situation. People also expressed their concerns about the cuts the government was making in the voluntary sector. She interacted with students from various schools to see some of the work they were doing to make the community a safer and better place.

Sunday 27th June 2011: As part of Al-Azhar WAAG delegation’s visit to MWF’s operational offices in Nelson, they also visited MQI Nelson. Led by Shaykh Dr Abd al-Fadeel al-Qawsi (Vice President of WAAG – World Association of Al-Azhar Graduates), the delegation included Professor Usama Yasin (Vice President for Administrative affairs of WAAG), Dr Abdul Daaim Al-Naseer and Brother Marwaan (Secretary of Dr Abd al-Fadeel al-Qawsi).
