On Friday 6th June, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran held a monthly Giyarvee Sharif Mehfil for young students who attend the education centre. The mehfil also had an awards ceremony incorporated in it, in honour of students who had recently completed reading the Holy Quran. There were three students hosting the mehfil, Salihah Anjum, Nida Ajaz and Ammara Sajjad.

On 21st May 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran Nelson began weekly lecture sessions for young students who attend the education centre. Sister Tahira Basharat at the education centre, invited Sister Atikah Parveen, a member of the Minhaj Youth League, was invited to come and deliver short talks about a number of topics that often effect the youth of today.

On Friday 25th April 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Nelson held a Naat Competition and Monthly Giyarvee Shareef mehfil for young female students who attend the education centre. The competition was a great success, with students from all the female classes participating. Winners were also chosen from each class to ensure fairness in age and ability.

On Friday 9th May, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran held a Khatam Sharif and Giyarvi Sharif mehfil in honour of the Grand Shaykh Nazim Al Haqqani (RA) who passed away. The Shaykh, who was a good friend of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, passed away on Thursday 8th May 2014, after a short illness. The mehfil was attended by all the teachers and students of the education centre.

On Thursday 1st April 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj ul Quran held a Hadeeth celebration party for senior students from Khadija Class. The event was organised to congratulate the class for becoming the first class to complete the 20 Hadith challenge.
