MQI Nelson holds monthly Giyarvee Sharif and Award Ceremony

On Friday 6th June, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran held a monthly Giyarvee Sharif Mehfil for young students who attend the education centre. The mehfil also had an awards ceremony incorporated in it, in honour of students who had recently completed reading the Holy Quran. There were three students hosting the mehfil, Salihah Anjum, Nida Ajaz and Ammara Sajjad.

The mehfil began with Darood Sharif as a group, and was led by Salihah Anjum, Maaheen Anjum and Irtikah Mahmood, this was followed by recitation of the Holy Quran by Nida Ajaz, Noor Mahmood and also Laiba Khan, who recited Surah Kauthar. There was also recitation of the Holy Quran from Fatimah Rehman.

Qaseedah Burdah Sharif was read by all the students as a group, but was led by Tooba Bilal. The first Naat of the event was recited by Sabrina, followed by Irtikah Mahmood. There was also a Naat of the Holy Prophet (SAW) by Anam Ahmed.

There was a short award ceremony for students who had completed reading the Holy Quran for the first time. The awards were presented by Atikah Parveen, a Muslim Youth League member and Tahira Basharat. The students who were rewarded were:

 

  • Maryam Ahmed
  • Laibah Khan
  • Anam Farooq
  • Aleena Ahmed

 

This was followed by more Nasheeds and Naats of the Holy Prophet (SAW). Meerab Ajaz and Ayman Ajaz both read a beautiful Naat Sharif together called “Ya Nabi”. Ayman Ahmed also read a Naat called, “Hasbi Rabi Jallallah”. This was followed by Iram Khan reciting praises on the Holy Prophet (SAW), she read “Meeta Meeta hai Meray Muhammad ka naam”. Halimah Hussain from the playgroup class read a short Naat, there were also Naat Sharifs from Komal Liaquat who read beautifully and a group naat by, Fatimah Ali and Noor Mehmood.

There was another short prize giving ceremony for students who had completed reading the Holy Quran for the second and third time. Sister Atikah Parveen announced the names and congratulated the students, and Sister Tahira Basharat and Naushaza Fiaz, presented the gifts.  The students who were rewarded were:

 

  • Fatimah Ali
  • Zahrah Ali
  • Sana Saeed Butt
  • Afreen Ali
  • Ammara Sajad
  • Madiyah Hussain
  • Ismah Mehmood

 

There were more Naat Sharifs from Rabia Ayub, Sammar Basharat and Ammara Ahmed.  The final Naat Sharif of the event was recited by Nida Ajaz.

Students who had completed reading their Qaidah, were awarded gifts by Sister Ambreen Afzal. The students were:

 

  • Noor Fatimah Mirza
  • Adawwiyah Fiaz
  • Halimah Hussain
  • Zayna Mahmood

 

Sister Atikah congratulated all the students, and encouraged them to continue working hard to perfect their recitations of the Holy Quran, the mehfil was concluded with Dhikr and Salaam by Tooba Bilal and Salihah Anjum.

Dua was done by Adawiyah Fiaz, Madiyah Hussain, Irtikah Mahmood, young students at the education centre. The final Dua was done by Atikah Parveen. Sister Tahira Basharat thanked the parents of students who were invited to attend the mehfil, for showing their support and encouragement. She also prayed for the successes of the students and for the long life and accomplishments of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. All the attendees were also served refreshments at the end.
