On the 20th of December MWL Nelson held a Mawlid gathering at Minhaj-ul-Quran, Carr Road, Nelson. This gathering was to celebrate the birth of the Greatest Blessing for the whole of mankind, our Beloved Prophet Peace and Blessings Upon Him, through whom we were bestowed the gift of our merciful religion of Islam. Five hundred Sisters attended this spiritually uplifting gathering.

Sister Saima Andleeb (MWL Nelson Dawah Secretary) and Sister Ghulam Fatima (MWL Nelson President) were the stage secretaries. Sister Saima recited loving poetry regarding our Beloved Prophet Peace and Blessing Upon Him, before inviting Sisters Aizah and Rabbia Iqbal (MYL Burnley) to lead the congregational recitation of Durood Shareef.

Surah Ikhlas was recited in a beautiful manner by Sister Ghulam Fatima, this was followed by the Naat 'Jashne Aamad-e-Rasool Peace and Blessings Upon Him' melodiously recited by Sister Anees. This lifted the spirits of the Sisters present and they all joined in to praise our Beloved Peace and Blessings Upon Him.

All the Sisters were waving their green flags with love.

A variety of Naats were recited to honour The Chosen one Peace and Blessing Upon Him. Sister Shazia recited ' Tu Hi Saada Chain te Karaar ve'. Sister Hola followed this with 'Qasidah Burda Shareef' in her unique style accompanied by the 'duff', this was highly refreshing for all the Sisters. Sister Anam continued the recitals with 'Tere Varga na Aaya', the lyrics to this Naat highlighted the uniqueness of our Beloved Peace and Blessings Upon Him.

Sister Attiqa (MYL Nelson) delivered an English speech to highlight the legality of Mawlid and why we should celebrate Mawlid-un-Nabi Peace and Blessings Upon Him. She quoted the Irfan-ul-Qur'an

Say: ‘(All this) is due to the bounty and mercy of Allah (bestowed upon you through raising Muhammad [blessings and peace be upon him] as the exalted Messenger). So the Muslims should rejoice over it. This is far better than (all that affluence and wealth) that they amass.’ [10:58]

She continued to speak about the relevance of celebration in Islam in light of Ahadeeth, highlighting our Beloved fasted on a Monday as this was the day of his Blessed Birth.

To continue with the praise of Naats Sister Zulekha Shabbir (MYL Accrington) melodiously recited 'Saarya Huraa ne Ditya Salaamya' accompanied by the 'duff'. The Nasheed group Jamiet-e-Fatima was invited to recite 'Aj Aashiqa ne Jashn Manaye'.

A break was taken to offer Maghrib Salah. The spiritual gathering continued with the descriptive Naat ' Aaqa Mere Sohne'. Sister Nasreen Akhtar (MWL North Zone President) delivered a short message encouraging all the Sisters to participate in the 'Ziyafet-e-Milaad' for Minhaj-ul-Quran, Lahore.

The guest Speaker Sister Farhat Parveen Qadri was invited to the stage with a passionate recital of poetry. She delivered a speech on the love for our Beloved and the reason behind our celebrations of Mawlid-un-Nabi Peace and Blessings Upon Him. She commenced her speech with the beautiful Divine words 'Wadduha to emphasise the love our Lord has for His Beloved', translated as

"By the growing morning bright (when the sun gains height and spreads its radiance), Or (O My Esteemed Beloved,) I swear by (your holy face glowing like) the growing morning bright, (the radiant face, whose effulgence has illumined the dark souls,) Or By (the growing sunshine of your Messenger ship rising like) the morning bright (whose radiance has replaced the darkness of ignorance with the enlightenment of guidance,)"[93:1]

She continued to speak to highlight why Mawlid should be celebrated, although this is self-explanatory for the lovers of Our Beloved Peace and Blessings Upon Him.

Sister Maria recited the final Naat of the gathering 'Terya Kya Baata'.

Sister Nasreen Akhtar invited all the Sisters to attend the Rabbi-ul-Awwal Halqat, Durood-e-Halqat on Mondays and Tajweed classes that are taking place at Minhaj-ul-Quran Masjid, Nelson.

A presentation was carried out for the seven new "life members" made by MWL Nelson in Muharram, they were gifted with 'Al Fayyuzate Muhammadi' a book authored by His Emminence Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. As a result of this gathering four sisters were interested in joining the dynamic Mustafvi mission of Minhaj-ul-Quran and took membership forms to complete.

Beautiful Salaam and Salutations were recited by Sisters Aisha Shakir and Maria.

An emotional Dua was made by Sister Farhat Parveen Qadri.

Food was served to all the Sisters.
