On Sunday 2nd December 2012, despite the very cold weather, Muslim Youth League Sisters Huddersfield attended a charity dinner at the Hudawi Centre which is situated in the Huddersfield town centre.
The event was organised by volunteers of the Interpal organisation to collect money for the people of Gaza. Interpal is a non-political charity based in the UK; by working with partners in Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan they aim to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people by providing relief and development to those in need.
The night commenced with a beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran and then Nasheeds by young Nasheed Artists. The event was hosted by Rahim Jung and featured inspirational speakers such as Shaykh Ibrahim Osi-Efa and Imam Ghulam Sarwar. There was also a presentation on the history and future of Palestine and a speech by a student of philosophy from the University of Bradford. The event also included an auction, and a delicious buffet provided by Kabana.
At the event, there were many stalls including the MYL Disperse stall set up by MYL-S Huddersfield. The stall consisted of books and DVD's of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Alhamdulillah, a lot of people visited the stall and were interested in Shaykh-ul-Islam's literature.
The MYL Huddersfield sisters enjoyed the evening and had the opportunity to meet new people. They were also inspired by the efforts of the young brothers and sisters who arranged the event.
