The first study circle of MYL-S Bradford took place on 23rd July 2012 in Manningham library. Alhamdulillah we had a full house and the study circle attracted many non-MQI members.

On arrival, the sisters were given a supplementary worksheets containing the Hadith’s which were going to be studied in the session. Soon after, the study circle commenced with a beautiful recitation of Tilawat of Verse 40 from Surah Al Ahzab “Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Last of the Prophets (ending the chain of the Prophets). And Allah is the Perfect Knower of everything” and Salaat was recited collectively by all the sisters present on Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for blessings.

Afsheen Shouket, an MYL-S Bradford member welcomed all the sisters and thanked them for attending. Afsheen Shouket explained how the study circles will be studying the Hadith’s from a Comprehensive Hadith compendium al-Minhaj us-Sawi published in English and compiled by Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri. The study circle started with the first part of the english al Minhaj as Sawwi “Prophetic Virtues and Miracles” which provides authentic hadith’s which effectively expose the majesty and beauty of the persona of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The chapter studied was titled “The esteemed majesty of the messengership and the honoured station of the chosen Prophet SAW” and the first section from this chapter which is titled “The exalted station of Muhammad's (SAW) Prophethood.” The aim of the study circle was to acquaint ourselves with the highly esteemed and honoured station of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and also to embed the love of Rasullalah in our hearts through the study of his Hadith.

Afsheen explained how each study circle will be tailored around the study of ahadith from the Minhaj as Sawwi, she also explained how the themes of each hadith would be reflected upon and the study circle was open to discussion. She encouraged the sisters to participate by giving their views and also sharing their knowledge with the rest who were present. Each Hadith was studied and disucssed in depth and the theme of each hadith was reflected upon. The sisters enthusiastically gave their input and discussed the various virtues of Prophet Muhammad such as his pure lineage, the perpetual nature of Noor-e-Muhammadiya and also his merciful personality.

The discussion was followed by a clip by Shaykh ul Islam Dr Tahir ul Qadri from an Al Hidayah camp lecture, this clip entailed Shaykh ul Islam explaining the mercy of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Shaykh ul Islam explained how once Prophet Muhammad PBUH drank from a bowl of milk and instead of passing it to the senior companions on his left, he gave it to a young boy on the right, this further emphasized the mercy and compassion of Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

As the session concluded, the sisters were asked to give their input and constructive criticism with regards to the study circle. The attendees congratulated MYL-S Bradford for having spent so much time in so well organising and delivering the study circle, they also enjoyed the study circle in a very academic atmosphere.

The study circles will take place regularly on a fortnight basis making use of venues such as the Manningham library. The next study circle will take place on 5th August 2012 at Manningham library from 2:30pm – 4:00pm insh’Allah, and all sisters are welcome to join us.
