Minhaj-ul-Qur’an (Ashton) commenced an agreed monthly program of Halqa-e-Durood gatherings in the Ashton Central Mosque, catering for male and female participation of all ages. The first gathering was from Maghrib to Isha on Saturday 13th February 2016.
The gathering commenced with recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Qari Manzoor Hussain Chishti sb. The program was compared by the Khateeb of Ashton Central Mosque Allama Qari Zahid Sharif Rizvi sb. After recitation of the Holy Qur’an Haji Muhammad Ashfaq Warsi sb. led a collective recitation of Qasidah Burdhah Shareef and the Durood-e-Minhaj.
This was followed by the Minhaj-ul-Qur’an Halqa-e-Durood printed Wazaif being distributed to all male and female attendees, and Allama Zahid Sharif Rizvi sb. leading the recitation of the Wazaif, whilst also providing much needed guidance on the correct recitation and pronunciation of the Wazaif.
Then brother Shahbaz Hassan Qadri read a Naat and Manqabat-e-Ghausia, which was collectively recited by the attendees. Allama Zahid Sharif Rizvi sb. then delivered a brief talk on the benefits of these gatherings and paid rich tribute to the efforts of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri sb. in motivating members and affiliates to set up gatherings for the collective recitation of Durood Shareef throughout the world.
Haji Muhammad Ashfaq Warsi sb. then led a spiritual session of Dhikr and Salaam, which was greatly appreciated by many attendees. Then after Salat-ul-Isha, the program concluded with: Khatam Shareef, Durood Shareef which had been recited more than 100,000 times, other Wazaif and recitations were collectively included in the final Dua led by Allama Zahid Sharif Rizvi sb. At the end of the gathering, food was served to all attendees.
More than 80 ladies and sisters attended and the male attendance was approximately 100. This was considered encouraging by the local Executive of Minhaj-ul-Qur’an (Ashton). President of Minhaj-ul-Qur’an (Ashton), Haji Muhammad Farooq Qadri sb. thanked the Trustees and Management of the Ashton Central Mosque for their support, facilitation and encouragement, as well as the Imam’s and additional staff. He also appreciated the MQI (Ashton) Executive and workers for their efforts and asked for greater efforts from all for the next gathering, scheduled at the same venue on Saturday 19th March 2016.
